Terms of service

Effective 28 July 2026. By installing or using PackLock, the merchant agrees to these terms.

The service

PackLock provides Pack Checks and uses Shopify's native fulfilment Holds to delay fulfilment while a Pack Check is open. PackLock is a strong operational nudge with an audit record, not an absolute security control. A merchant can release a Hold directly in Shopify admin.

Merchant responsibilities

The merchant is responsible for store configuration, inventory, order accuracy, fulfilment decisions, access to the Station Link, staff training, and confirming that PackLock fits any connected fulfilment or label workflow. Auto-fulfilment workflows may act before PackLock can place a Hold and are not supported.

Plans and billing

The Free plan includes up to 50 guarded orders per calendar month. Pro is $1.99 USD per month for unlimited guarded orders. Shopify processes charges and cancellations. Reaching the Free limit stops new Holds but never prevents completion or release of an existing Pack Check.

Availability and changes

We aim to operate PackLock reliably but do not guarantee uninterrupted service or that every order is held before another automation acts. Webhooks can be delayed or dropped; PackLock uses periodic Reconciliation to reduce that risk. We may change the service where required for Shopify platform compatibility, security, or legal compliance.

Uninstalling

The merchant should use PackLock's Pause and release all Holds action before uninstalling. Shopify revokes app access immediately, so PackLock cannot clean up after uninstall. Remaining Holds can be released by a merchant in Shopify admin. See the offboarding guide.

Data protection

The merchant instructs PackLock to process the limited order and fulfilment data described in the privacy policy only to provide and secure the service. Each party will comply with applicable privacy law. PackLock does not sell personal data, limits access to service providers needed to operate the app, applies the published retention periods, and deletes shop data when Shopify sends its mandatory redact request.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, PackLock is provided without implied warranties and we are not liable for indirect, consequential, or lost-profit damages. Our aggregate liability arising from the service will not exceed the fees paid for PackLock in the preceding 12 months. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
